Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our Finance team in Witney. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading cost analysis and financial reporting activities, implementing effective financial strategies, and ensuring a smooth workflow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and submit planning schedules for the Annual Plan, Quarterly Latest Best Estimates, and Long Range (5 year) Plans, identifying drivers for variances from the business and presenting results to Senior leadership.
  • Own and supervise the annual standard cost-setting process for all manufactured product lines, including detailed manufacturing costing analysis and variances from standard.
  • Collaborate with Operations to understand key operational issues and their impact on the Financials, holding the business accountable for delivering against plans, committed outputs, and results.
  • Identify and implement cost savings in materials and labour, manage inventory planning, and conduct timely monthly reviews of relevant balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Share internal and external audit compliance activities with the rest of the Finance team.
  • Work on process improvement initiatives and projects with external systems consultants to achieve quality reporting and time and cost efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the wider Finance team on the timely completion of month-end tasks, including preparing and sending relevant reports on time and in full to various parties across the business and division.
  • Supervise a small team of 2 Costing Analysts.
Requirements

The successful Senior Cost Accountant will be highly proactive and passionate about cost accounting and process improvements, with a solid background in handling large volumes of data and condensing them into executive summaries.

Ideal candidates will hold a full Qualification in CIMA/ACA/ACCA with significant experience in a manufacturing environment.

Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. The candidate must be organised, flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
