This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism who may also have sight loss. Our Befriender 'Out and About' Volunteer role involves being a reliable companion to attend activities that bring joy to our service users. These activities might include going for a walk, attending a concert, going to the cinema, or simply going out for coffee or a meal.
Key Responsibilities
- To be a kind, empathetic, and friendly companion to our service users.
- To have a good sense of humour and enjoy chatting with others.
- To be punctual and reliable in attending activities with our service users.
- To maintain confidentiality and handle information in line with our data protection procedures.
- To assist with sighted guide/orientation when necessary.
Requirements
- To be over the age of 18.
