Position Overview

We are excited to announce openings within our general X-ray team for skilled and motivated radiographers following recent advancements and training opportunities within our organization.

As we embark on a new managed service initiative to upgrade all imaging technology across our facilities, we seek radiographers with relevant expertise who are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and generating high-quality imaging results with state-of-the-art equipment. In your role as a Lead Radiography Specialist, you will assume a supervisory position during both standard and out-of-hours shifts, overseeing junior radiographers, Radiography Assistant Practitioners, and Radiography Apprentices.

Successful candidates will have the chance to receive training to rotate through Interventional Radiology and The Heart Centre catheterization labs.

Key Responsibilities

Our Radiology Department conducts examinations across various modalities at multiple locations. The primary facilities include Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, along with satellite services.

  • Perform all aspects of adult and pediatric general radiography, including trauma, mobile imaging, theatre procedures, and fluoroscopy.
  • Participate fully in the shift rota, which includes weekends, nights, and public holidays as necessary.
  • Take on a leadership role during both standard and out-of-hours shifts.
  • Mentor junior radiographers and Radiography Assistant Practitioners during their training.

We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements; all requests for part-time or flexible schedules will be considered.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in Radiography (BSc) or equivalent DCRR.
  • Prior experience within the NHS.
  • State registration.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CRIS and PACS systems.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiographic procedures.

Desirable Experience

  • Awareness of current NHS policies and guidelines that may impact service delivery.
  • Relevant prior experience.
