Cardiology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiology Consultant to join our team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Decisions Unit, you will be responsible for providing a consultant-led cardiology service, developing pathways for ambulatory care, and supporting the general cardiology service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Provide a consultant-led cardiology service in the Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU)
- Develop pathways for ambulatory care, admission avoidance, and streaming to appropriate services
- Support the general cardiology service and be responsible for the care of patients within cardiology services across UHL
- Supervise, teach, and train junior medical staff and medical students
- Work with colleagues on other sites within UHL to deliver an excellent service
- Undertake high-standard and timely managerial duties (clinical administration) that support clinical care
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- MB BS or equivalent
- Full GMC Registration
- Fully Accredited for Higher Specialist Training or eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date
- MRCP/MRCS or equivalent
- Current BLS Certification
We also require a candidate with excellent clinical skills and experience, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and supervise juniors. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to treating all individuals with dignity and respect, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
