Job Title: Building Surveyor

We are working with a local authority in Salford to find a Building Surveyor on an interim basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including refurbishments of children's residential homes, school refurbishments, and large-scale projects.

Job Type:

Full-time, with a flexible working policy in place. The initial contract is for 3 months, with the potential to extend or apply for a permanent position.

Hourly Rate:

£35-40 per hour, dependent on experience. The role is inside IR35 and rates are via an umbrella company.

Location:

Hybrid working arrangement, with a mix of Salford office, various sites, and home working.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage building works from conception to completion.
  • Develop detailed briefs in collaboration with clients.
  • Carry out detailed design work and prepare production information.
  • Administer building contracts and act as 'Lead Discipline' on programmed capital projects.
  • Perform all aspects of professional surveying work, including surveys, Party Wall work, dilapidations, Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliance, and Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs).
  • Conduct inspections to resolve building defects, assign contractors, and manage the works.
Requirements:
  • Chartered status.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale building projects.
  • Strong project management skills, including contract management.
  • Proficiency in design and feasibility, with a strong understanding of either discipline.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various project sites.
