Antony James Recruitment Ltd is excited to partner with a leading global organisation in the data analytics space to find a skilled Systems Accountant. Reporting to the Head of Systems Accounting, this role will focus on the optimisation and maintenance of financial systems, with a strong emphasis on Aptitude and Oracle.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis to resolve issues with implemented financial systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Implement changes to financial systems in a controlled and efficient manner, with thorough testing and review to guarantee accuracy.
  • Ensure a deep understanding of the impact of changes to financial systems on business processes, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates of financial systems, specifically Aptitude, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Review and refine financial system procedures and policies to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Support the investigation of ad-hoc and periodic queries as requested by Financial Controllers.
  • Collaborate with the team to test any changes to financial systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in using and maintaining financial systems, including general ledgers, accounting rules engines, and sub-ledgers for technical accounting.
  • Strong academic background, including an internationally recognised professional accounting qualification, with a minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience.
  • Significant experience working within an insurance or reinsurance business, with a deep understanding of the industry's financial systems and processes.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Oracle Financials, including troubleshooting, system configuration, and usage as a Systems Accountant.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and improving financial systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex issues.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all financial system updates and reporting.
  • Proficiency in multiple financial systems and tools, including Excel, Aptitude, and data analytics software.
