Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Humanities Teacher to join our client schools in Gateshead. As a Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that encompass various aspects of history, geography, and social studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective humanities lessons that foster critical thinking and promote a deep understanding of historical and geographical concepts.

Classroom Environment

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for humanities subjects.

Curriculum Development

Develop and implement schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment materials that align with the humanities curriculum.

Collaboration and Professional Development

Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the humanities curriculum.

Requirements
  • Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Education

Degree in History, Geography, Social Studies, or a related subject.

Experience

Proven experience teaching humanities at school level is preferred.

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Certifications

An updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).

Commitment

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
