The Role – What We're Looking For

We are currently looking for a senior cost management professional to join our Manchester office. The successful candidate will maintain a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation, and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider working across a range of projects such as large commercial new builds for blue-chip clients, private residential, towers, and national government frameworks, etc.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to our clients
  • Participating in bid-winning, including drafting proposals and attending key industry events
  • Developing and expanding the existing client base across the sector
  • Developing and improving the performance of the team; formulating and implementing a local and national growth plan in consultation with other directors
  • Helping to direct staff within the team on timely billings and cash collection to improve lock-up
  • Supporting the office lead director and operations director in the annual budget process, providing monthly financial forecasts and periodic stress testing of projects
  • Working collaboratively with the senior management team members to share best practice, service delivery, knowledge, and resources
  • Undertaking responsibility for personal and industry compliance
  • Providing support on regular audits and peer reviews of projects that are undertaken
  • Undertaking responsibility for compliance with the company's health and safety policy and other relevant policies
  • Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments
  • Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
  • Supervising a young team of graduates and recently chartered cost consultants
  • Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision
  • Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Providing support to the team leader/service leaders in cost management of projects
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships
