Job Summary:

Isisekelo Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Director to lead our kitchen team and ensure the highest standards of food quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Operations:
    • Develop and implement menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring consistency and excellence.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that food meets our high standards.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and motivate a team of chefs and kitchen staff to achieve exceptional results.
    • Develop and implement training programs to ensure that staff have the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to staff.
  • Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
    • Manage inventory levels and ensure that all ingredients and supplies are ordered and received in a timely manner.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure that we receive the best quality products at competitive prices.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed and that the kitchen is a safe and healthy environment for staff and customers.
    • Conduct regular health and safety audits to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a senior chef or kitchen manager in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and health and safety protocols.
  • Ability to train and develop staff.
