Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Acute Medicine team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing specialist support and advice to the multidisciplinary team, and will be responsible for the operational management and clinical leadership of the Occupational Therapy team.

Main Responsibilities

Provide specialist occupational therapy services to patients with complex conditions, including those with cardiac, respiratory, and palliative care needs.

Supervise and mentor junior occupational therapists, assistants, and students to ensure high-quality patient care and professional development.

Contribute to the delivery, evaluation, and review of the Acute Medicine Occupational Therapy service, including the development of business plans and strategic initiatives.

Represent the Occupational Therapy Service as a whole, including deputising for the Professional Lead in liaison with other Team Leads.

Person Specification

Diploma in Occupational Therapy or BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy or overseas equivalent.

Experience of working in a range of clinical specialties, including cardiac, respiratory medicine, palliative care, and dementia care.

Experience in managing a team and contributing to the delivery, evaluation, and review of a service.
