About the Role

Citizens Advice is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Public Affairs Assistant. This role will provide support to our national campaigning and influencing work, day-to-day public affairs activities, and projects to help us improve how the team works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of national campaigns and influencing strategies
  • Assist in the coordination of public affairs activities, including stakeholder engagement and event planning
  • Contribute to the analysis of policy and political developments, identifying opportunities for Citizens Advice to influence decision-makers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including parliamentarians, civil servants, and other organizations
  • Provide administrative support to the public affairs team, including managing databases and preparing reports
Requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Knowledge of the UK policy and political landscape, with a strong understanding of the role of advocacy and campaigning in influencing decision-makers
  • Ability to analyze complex information and identify key issues and opportunities for influence
