About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our gastroenterology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patients independently in a gastroenterology clinic, conducting a mixture of new and follow-up appointments.
  • Perform independent endoscopy lists, including diagnostic procedures and therapy as required.
  • Supervise junior doctors and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of our gastroenterology services, including the implementation of new procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • Be a qualified medical doctor with a strong background in gastroenterology.
  • Have a proven track record of providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of healthcare services.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a strong understanding of JAG accreditation and be able to demonstrate evidence of independent practice.
