Job Title: Road Transport Equipment Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Oldham Depot. As a seasoned PCV mechanic, engineer, or fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a modern and varied fleet of vehicles, adhering to strict safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair a range of vehicle types, including buses, coaches, and HGVs/LGVs, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake replacements, diagnosing and rectifying faults using technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental goals, communicating effectively with the team to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:
  • An engineering background with a vehicular focus, with experience in bus, coach, truck, haulage, automotive, plant, rail, farm, or similar sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
