About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Private Sector Enforcement Officer to join our Private Sector Housing Team. As a key member of the team, you will regulate private sector housing in Dacorum and lead on enforcement action against landlords and liable parties to raise standards.

You will be responsible for carrying out inspections and fulfilling statutory duties relating to private sector dwellings, including houses in multiple occupation, to ensure adequate standards are met. This will involve establishing property conditions, identifying category 1 or category 2 hazards, and determining the most appropriate course of action under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System assessment, the council's enforcement policy, and legislative powers.

You will also provide guidance, support, and mentoring to a team of officers regarding casework and legislation. Additionally, you will lead on PACE interviews and court work as required. Your duties will include immigration visits, HHSRS inspections, HMO inspections, HMO licensing, empty homes work, enforcement action, and leading on proactive initiatives.

You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to achieve defined performance targets. You will work in collaboration with other services and senior management to ensure that services are joined up appropriately and aligned to the achievement of the Council's aims and objectives.
