Supply Animal Technician

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Easton College Animal Centre as a Supply Animal Technician. The successful candidate will provide practical learning opportunities for students, including demonstrating skills to groups and supervising students as they carry out animal duties.

The role will involve supporting with animal husbandry, record keeping, and health monitoring, as well as ensuring animals are cared for to the highest welfare and industry standards.

The ideal candidate will be a genuine team worker, able to communicate effectively and work in a flexible and busy environment. Relevant practical experience and a Level 3 qualification are desirable, but animal experience will be considered.

This is a Supply Technician role, which means there are no set hours. Support may be required on weekends, bank holidays, and during college holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support with animal husbandry and record keeping
  • Monitor animal health and welfare
  • Provide practical learning opportunities for students
  • Supervise students as they carry out animal duties
  • Ensure animals are cared for to the highest welfare and industry standards

Requirements:

  • Relevant practical experience
  • Desirable: Level 3 qualification
  • Animal experience considered
  • Ability to work in a flexible and busy environment
  • Good communication skills

Working Arrangements:

This is a Supply Technician role, which means there are no set hours. Support may be required on weekends, bank holidays, and during college holidays.

DBS Check:

We require all staff to undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and to register with the DBS Update Service.

Please note:

From 28 November 2020, the government implemented changes to the filtering rules. We cannot accept any update service checks on DBS certificates that have been issued before this date. A new check must be completed with City College Norwich.
