Senior Information Security Architect Role

The Digital and Security organisation offers world-class digital and security expertise, solutions, and services to customers, including NHS Boards, Scottish Government, and the wider public sector in Scotland.

A critical role in the integrated business technology strategy is the Senior Information Security Architect position, ensuring the delivery of suitable and effective solutions and services. As the leader of the Security Consultancy function in Information Security & Governance, this role is part of the senior management team, focused on providing effective information security and governance consultancy, including security architecture, risk assessment, and risk treatment advice and guidance.

As Senior Information Security Architect, you will design, develop, deploy, and manage the portfolio of security consultancy services provided by NHS Scotland. You will develop, own, and promote the strategy for the ISG Security Consultancy portfolio and provide technical leadership in the development, deployment, and support of the ISG function. You will promote and contribute to a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement, developing and leading a team of technical security and information governance specialists to support the service.

This role requires a degree-level education in an IT or relevant discipline or considerable experience working in related roles, backed by a postgraduate qualification in the specialist area. You must have extensive knowledge and experience of information security and IT architecture frameworks. A criminal record check may be required if you have lived or worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years.

The salary range for this role is £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
