Role Overview

Thales is seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager to join our team in Belfast, United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining procurement policies within their designated category, in conjunction with other stakeholders, and managing framework agreements for policy suppliers. They will also work closely with other functions and stakeholders to manage all purchasing aspects of delegated bid and project work packages, ensuring they are executed in accordance with technical, program, cost, and performance requirements.

  • Internal Category stakeholders, CBU or GBU Management, and UK PCC Team
  • UK Purchasing Shared Service
  • Country or Global Business Units Purchasing teams
  • Group Purchasing, Engineering, and Bids & Project Management at UK or CBU level
  • Suppliers
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in mid-to-senior level purchasing/procurement, with a track record of deploying category management techniques to define long-term supply policies. They will also have experience working within a Shared Service environment with a customer service focus, as well as using supplier relationship and performance management techniques and measurement.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a MCIPS or equivalent qualifications in other disciplines, with high standards of numeracy and literacy. A Business or Engineering degree is also desirable.
