About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning, and building positive relationships with staff, students, and parents. With a strong focus on leadership and management, this role requires a passionate and experienced individual who can motivate and inspire a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Geography teachers
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging geography curriculum
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department
  • Build positive relationships with staff, students, and parents
  • Manage department resources and budget effectively
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in geography education

Requirements:

  • A degree in Geography or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and preferably a postgraduate qualification in education or leadership
  • Proven experience as a Geography teacher, with a track record of delivering exceptional results
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Excellent knowledge of the geography curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Experience in a leadership role in a school setting would be advantageous
