We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team in York.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the purchase ledger, processing invoices, and managing cash-flow. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Processing invoices into the accounting software with accuracy.
  2. Matching, batching, and coding invoices according to established protocols.
  3. Obtaining authorisation for invoices processed in accordance with agreed authorisation levels.
  4. Executing payment runs and assisting in managing cash-flow.
  5. Identifying exceptional or escalated invoices and resolving them promptly.
  6. Handling purchase ledger queries and communicating with suppliers and operational management.
  7. Performing statement and bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  8. Maintaining the company's cashbooks to ensure up-to-date records.
  9. Providing support during month-end duties, including accruals and prepayments.
Requirements and Skills

  • Organisational skills to prioritise tasks and manage workload efficiently.

The salary range for this position is £25,000 - £28,000 plus benefits, depending on skills and experience.
