Key Responsibilities
  • Advise at senior levels on complex business challenges and take a hands-on role to ensure solutions are delivered and intended benefits are realised.
  • Work with clients to provide strategic consultancy to set and realise strategies for change, against their most complex problem sets.
  • Design and create programmes to support major transformations to ways of operating, e.g. across staff and locations.
  • Use analysis, modelling and technology to support drawing conclusions to meet the challenges of increased competition and expectations, e.g. increasing student retention or supporting a major new investment.
  • Utilise innovative technology, structures, systems and people change to design and deliver objectives efficiently.
  • Review existing feasibility studies, masterplans and risk assessments to make robust and clear proposals and business cases that will challenge and validate realisation of benefits.
  • Deliver solutions to improve efficiency, quality and customer experience, by optimising clients' resources, processes and assets.
  • Develop and deliver best in class tailored commercial, procurement and supply chain consultancy for our clients.
  • Deliver strong people and change consultancy - embedding the change so that our clients get the best outcomes.
Requirements
  • Significant responsibility for client-facing work from day one.
  • Regular interactions with clients, leading work-streams or projects, and supporting senior colleagues in delivering specific project outputs.
  • Capability and experience of Management Consulting delivery across four dimensions:
    • Client interaction:
      • Build trusted and lasting relationships with clients at all levels in a business environment.
      • Relevant sector experience – e.g. central government, defence, education, transport.
    • Technical delivery:
      • At least a degree or equivalent qualification and may hold, or be working towards, a professional qualification.
      • Strong written communication skills and the ability to write documents which are compelling, engaging and unambiguous.
      • High level of problem-solving ability in relation to technically complex or conceptually abstract ideas.
      • Presentation of complex solutions and concepts effectively and making persuasive cases based on analysis.
      • Variety of consulting capabilities and techniques to suit different situations.
    • Practice and service development:
      • Excellent team player with the ability to communicate and engage at all levels with a variety of stakeholders.
      • Ability to transfer skills and knowledge to colleagues.
      • Proactive approach to work and enjoying working with a variety of people as well as being comfortable with progressing work independently.
    • Business development:
      • Experience or potential to support or contribute to the sale of Business Consulting work – including bid development and presentation delivery.
      • Strong commercial acumen and comfortable with managing bids and end to end assignment financial management.
