Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fire & Safety Engineer to join our team as a Design Appraisal and Type Approval Specialist. As a key member of our Fire & Safety Team, you will be responsible for carrying out design appraisal and type approval of complex fire and safety systems for marine, offshore, and onshore oil and gas and renewables facilities.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire protection and safety, with experience in design appraisal and type approval of fire and safety systems. You will be responsible for providing technical advice to clients and colleagues, and for ensuring that all fire and safety systems meet the required standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out design appraisal of fire and safety arrangements and systems against codes and standards and regulations.
  • Type Approve Cryogenic and Passive Fire Protection products to various international codes and standards.
  • Provide technical and regulatory guidance to clients during the design and construction phase.
  • Perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research, or development work.
  • Apply theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, and maintain engineering products, processes, systems, and services.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant field of engineering or physical science.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in a related Fire & Safety Engineering area.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
  • Flexible attitude, effective interpersonal skills, strong analytical skills, and ability to provide technical, commercial, and people communication.
  • Proficiency in English language, exceptional communication skills, alertness, and attention to detail.
