SEMH Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at Qualiteach Ltd. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to develop and thrive in a supportive environment.

About the Role

This SEMH Teaching Assistant position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to make a real difference in the lives of our students. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to provide individualized support and guidance to pupils, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs in a variety of settings, including classrooms and one-to-one sessions.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to help pupils overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to provide guidance and support to pupils, helping them to develop social, emotional and mental health skills.
  • Mitigate challenging behaviour and provide a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including teachers, therapists and support staff, to provide a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
About the School

Our SEMH School is a small, specialist school that caters to a total of 74 pupils. We have an Ofsted rating of Outstanding and are committed to providing a high-quality education and support to our students. Our school is based in Redbridge, with close transport links to the Central Line and several bus services.

Requirements
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to work with challenging pupils.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Ability to work flexibly and provide a high level of specialised care to pupils.
