Dual Service Lead Maternity Cover Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to join our team as a Dual Service Lead, covering a maternity leave position for 9 months in our Watford location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the day-to-day operational management of the home, ensuring effective use of resources to provide a high-quality service.
  • Ensure regular supervision of staff, in accordance with CareTech's Policy.
  • Collaborate with the Service Development Team to select and assess potential new residents, and facilitate their transition into the home.
  • Develop and maintain dynamic support plans for service users, involving them in the process and taking into account their needs and aspirations.
  • Ensure the home operates in accordance with statutory requirements, using the National Minimum Standards as a benchmark for good practice.
  • Lead risk analysis within the home, ensuring appropriate assessments and plans are in place to minimize risk.
  • Ensure the home provides a safe environment for personal development, considering practical, physical, and emotional needs.
  • Support Senior Managers in Contract Monitoring, providing reports and management information as necessary.
  • Liaise with external agencies and maintain professional contact with staff and agencies.
  • Work with the Personnel Department to support recruitment and selection, and assist the Area Manager in staffing strategies and policies.
  • Participate in budget formulation and monitor expenditure in specific budget headings.
  • Ensure proper record and administrative systems are in place, as required by CareTech Policy and Statutory Authorities.
  • Manage the Home's petty cash float and service user monies.
  • Participate in the Area's on-call management system and ensure good Health and Safety practice.
  • Communicate effectively within the home, upwards, and sideways to relevant others.
  • Support the Company's Disciplinary and Grievance processes, including Investigations and Disciplinary Hearings.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to CareTech's Policy and Procedures, and participate in their review and revision.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience at management level is essential.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Confidence to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passion to work with vulnerable adults.
  • Commitment to achieving high standards of safeguarding.
