Salary:

c. £120,000 base, 30% bonus, 6-figure equity (12-18 months from exit)

 

Job Description

We are looking for a senior financial strategist to join our team and take on the role of Group FD. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the finance team of 10, ensuring efficient and high-performance operations.

You will develop and maintain robust financial controls and processes to support the company's growth, manage project accounting, and provide clear, actionable financial insights to support decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in senior financial leadership roles, proven expertise in project accounting within a technology or similar industry, and a deep understanding of SaaS metrics.

You will work closely with our CFO to develop and execute financial strategies to optimize the company's value and position it for a successful exit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the finance team of 10, ensuring efficient and high-performance operations.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and processes to support the company's growth.
  • Manage project accounting and provide clear, actionable financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on key SaaS metrics, including ARR, retention rates, and LTV ratios.
  • Oversee and coordinate the timely completion of audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Lead tax planning and compliance activities to optimize the company's tax position.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive investor reporting to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Support the CFO in developing and executing financial strategies to optimise the company's value and position it for a successful exit.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent, with extensive experience in senior financial leadership roles.
  • Proven expertise in project accounting within a technology or similar industry.
  • Understanding of SaaS metrics and the ability to analyse ARR and related KPIs effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Track record of successfully supporting exits, M&A, or similar transactions in a VC/PE-backed environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
  • Hands-on, strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.
