Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the Clinical Chemistry department at Barnsley Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality laboratory services and contributing to the maintenance of high scientific and technical standards.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in Clinical Chemistry and hold current registration with the HCPC (Band 5/Band 6 BMS). A degree in Biomedical Sciences from an IBMS accredited institution is also required.

The salary for this role is £29,970 - £44,962 per annum, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to your salary, you will have access to excellent benefits, including professional development opportunities and a strong work-life balance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining complex laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Participating in out-of-hours rotas covering the 24/7 routine Biochemistry service.
  • Assisting in monitoring quality standards and performing audits as directed.
