About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team at Leicestershire County Council. As a Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting adults in our community, promoting independence, and improving their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with individuals, families, and carers to connect and listen, and where necessary, undertake assessments under the Care Act 2014.
  • Devise plans to support individuals in accessing the help they need, which may involve connecting them with local community resources or referring them to other agencies.
  • Identify and report potential safeguarding concerns, consider mental capacity, and other high-risk situations where a person's safety or liberty may be at risk.

Requirements

  • Hold a Level 2 in Maths and English.
  • Have relevant experience of working with adults in a social care setting and of working with other agencies within a fieldwork environment.
  • Understand the need to undertake need and risk assessments and the issues/needs that adults and their families/carers may have.
  • Be a confident communicator who is skilled in negotiation, persuasion, assertiveness, and conflict management, and able to build effective working relationships.
