Food Service Assistant Job

We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a food service assistant. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service and support our catering services for care homes and schools.

The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, service, and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.

This position involves working across various settings, including Schools, Care homes, Contract Catering & Events. You will be required to have an enhanced DBS and be able to work across Norfolk. A driving license and access to your own vehicle are preferable.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare ingredients for meals, including chopping vegetables and portioning food items
  2. Set up serving areas and ensure they are well-stocked with required items
  3. Serve meals to residents or students in a timely and courteous manner
  4. Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils
  5. Follow food safety and hygiene protocols at all times
  6. Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
Requirements and Salary:
  • Previous experience in catering, food service, or a similar role is preferred but not required
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions
  • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as needed
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Enhanced DBS (essential)
  • Competitive salary: £12.75 per hour
