Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical podiatrist to join the Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust team. We are looking for a podiatrist who has a passion for developing both the registered and unregistered workforce, as well as embedding quality improvement in their practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience in adult and children's physical rehabilitation care, complex disability management, and health prevention in the community environment.

The post holder will be expected to support the multi-professional AHP clinical workforce to develop skills to deliver safe, evidence-based patient-centered interventions in the community setting.

The podiatrist will be part of a practice development network working alongside nursing colleagues.

Main Duties
  1. Ensuring the quality and range of learning and development opportunities for all bands of clinical staff within the registered and unregistered AHP workforce to ensure safe and effective patient care and practice.
  2. Supporting and facilitating the development of AHP clinical practice through ensuring appropriate support mechanisms, such as supervision, direct observations of practice, competency frameworks, and learning contracts.
  3. Developing, coordinating, providing, and evaluating training programs and development activities for all registered and unregistered AHP clinical staff.
  4. Developing strategies that enhance AHP staff recruitment, career development, workforce objectives, and staff satisfaction.
  5. Working in close liaison with the Clinical Practice & Education Development Leads, AHP Lead, Chief AHP, Professional AHPs, Divisional Director of Nursing & Therapies (DDNTs), external Integrated Care Boards (ICB), and national AHP forums.
  6. Promoting and role-modeling high standards of care through the demonstration of clinical expertise and quality improvement.
  7. Role-modeling and facilitating a positive learning environment in the workplace where staff development is encouraged and supported.
  8. Facilitating induction, education, and continuing professional development for all levels of registered and non-registered AHP staff within the division, profession, and/or specialty.

The salary in the advert reflects the pay increase for 2024-2025.

Job Responsibilities
  1. To work with the Academy team, AHP Lead, Chief AHP, Professional AHPs, and Clinical Leads to identify specific training needs and plan programs to ensure staff are competent and have the right skills to undertake their roles.
  2. To work with the Academy team, AHP Clinical Practice & Education Lead, Chief AHP, Lead AHP, clinical teams, Heads of Clinical Services (HOCS), Divisional Director of Nursing and Therapies (DDNTs) as an ambassador for practice development.
  3. To support Professional AHP Leads, DDNTs, and Clinical Leads in planning, implementing, and evaluating practice changes in line with evidence and best practice.
  4. Clinical Leadership training.
  5. Evidence of continuing personal and professional development.
Desirable
  • Educated to Master's degree level or equivalent.
ExperienceEssential
  • Significant senior experience within community services.
  • Previous experience in practice development.
  • Experience of delivering on practice development initiatives and leading change with individuals and teams.
  • Experience of report writing and presentation.

  • Experience of leading quality improvement initiatives.
