About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Maintenance and Gardening Assistant to join our team at Tanglewood Care Homes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the gardens and grounds of our Sandpiper Care Home are well-maintained and visually appealing for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs to ensure the smooth operation of the care home
  • Assist with gardening duties, including planting, pruning, and weeding, to maintain the gardens and grounds
  • Ensure pathways, entrances, and parking areas are safe and clear of litter and debris
  • Maintain and store tools and equipment in a clean and tidy fashion
  • Assist with painting and decorating tasks to maintain the care home's appearance
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and external contractors as required

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in maintenance and gardening
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic DIY skills and knowledge of tools and equipment
Working Hours

This is a part-time role, working 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required for weekend availability.

Location

The role is based at our Sandpiper Care Home in Alford, Lincolnshire, LN13 9AQ.
