Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented engineer to join our team as an Electrical Building Services Design Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing electrical design drawings, calculations, and reports while contributing to BREEAM or equivalent legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Documentation: Create high-quality electrical design drawings, calculations, and reports that meet project requirements.
  2. Legislation and Compliance: Contribute to ensuring all designs comply with BREEAM or equivalent legislation, enhancing the sustainability of our projects.
  3. Commissioning and Testing: Witness testing and commissioning procedures to ensure final installations meet specifications.
  4. Project Management: Collaborate with internal and external teams to effectively manage project timelines and deliverables.
  5. Quality Assurance: Work within our company's Quality Assurance management systems to maintain exceptional quality standards.
  6. Team Support: Provide assistance to senior/associate engineers and management as needed, promoting a collaborative work environment.
  7. Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and clients.
  8. Surveys and Analysis: Conduct non-intrusive surveys of existing installations and analyze main plant area spatial allowance exercises to inform design decisions.
  9. Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with industry developments, new legislation, and emerging technologies to enhance your skills and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
  10. Meetings and Collaboration: Participate in design team and project meetings, contributing valuable insights and ideas to drive project success.
  11. Personal Development: Pursue chartership and maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements to advance your career.
  12. Collaboration and Communication: Liaise closely with lead and/or support engineers to ensure discipline designs meet expected quality and program standards.
  13. Security and Confidentiality: Adhere to all security procedures and commercial confidentiality restrictions associated with work duties.

We are looking for an ambitious individual with an Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification, or relevant construction site-based experience with a recognized completed electrical apprenticeship. Requirements
  • Engineering Degree: Preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Engineering Qualification: A minimum of an Engineering HNC/D or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Construction Experience: Alternatively, suitable construction site-based experience with a recognized completed electrical apprenticeship is acceptable.
