Job Overview:


The University Hospitals Dorset is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join its team in the Acute Respiratory Physiotherapy department. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex respiratory conditions.


The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualized physiotherapy programs for patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and pneumonia. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure seamless care for patients.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. You will also need to be able to assess and manage patients with complex multi-pathologies at a highly specialist level.

Main Duties:



  • Participate in on-call shifts, twilight shifts, and a weekend rota.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients.
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized physiotherapy programs for patients with complex respiratory conditions.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication skills to ensure seamless care for patients.
  • Provide education and support to patients, relatives, carers, and staff.

About the Role:


The successful candidate will join our established Band 6 rotations, rotating between Front Door (Acute Medical Unit), Surgery, Medicine, Cardiology, Haematology, Respiratory, and Intensive Care. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients with complex needs.


Requirements:



  • Essential: B Sc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, HCPC Registration, and Evidence of CPD.
  • Desirable: Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Fieldwork Supervision Course, and Postgraduate education.
