Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of residential development schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Surveying department with cost management for development and contracting projects from procurement to the completion of sub-contract final accounts.
  • Attend site pre-start meetings to understand construction issue drawings with the Senior/Quantity Surveyor.
  • Compile tender packages for all sub-contract trades and receive tenders for analysis.
  • Issue sub-contract orders in accordance with Group Policy and Commercial Best Practice to budget and within programme requirements.
  • Liaise with the Build Department on sub-contractors' performance and compliance with order conditions.
  • Produce sub-contract orders to accord with site programmed build requirements in accordance with Group Policy and Group Rebate schemes.
  • Provide forecast and site budget information to meet the business's reporting requirements.
  • Control and report post-contract cost movements to provide monthly reporting as required by the Commercial Manager.
  • Process invoices/applications for payments in accordance with Standard Terms and Conditions of Contract.
  • Advise management of notification of impending claim or legal action arising from a disputed claim or payment from a Sub-Contractor/Service Provider.
  • Assist in determining sub-contract orders in accordance with Standard Terms and Conditions of Employment and liaise with the Build Department.
  • Use the BMS and processes to manage site project administration, including orders, variations, valuations, etc.
  • Review materials on-site and material valuations.
  • Settle variation invoices/applications for payment in accordance with Standard Terms and Conditions of Contract.
  • Certify retention releases on completion of the project.
  • Prepare and agree sub-contract final accounts.
  • Maintain necessary systems to efficiently file and retrieve information and to allow others to do likewise in accordance with the Business Management System.
  • Maintain final account schedules.
