Job Title: Mechanical Engineer for Industrial Processes

About the Role
Seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Nottingham, UK to support the company's expansion. The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering and 5-10 years of experience designing equipment for industrial processes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and specify equipment for processing systems and standalone machines, considering international and national laws/standards.
  • Liaise with other engineering disciplines to ensure optimal process control.
  • Collaborate on bespoke equipment design and processes.
  • Prepare bills of materials and assist the purchasing department.
  • Provide Quality Control inspections for manufactured components.
  • Support sales staff in providing mechanical designs that meet quotation requirements.
  • Assist engineering and project managers in reporting and estimating project timescales.
  • Document equipment for colleagues, commissioning engineers, maintenance staff, and end users.
  • Support the spares department and provide on-site installation/commissioning as needed.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level in mechanical-based engineering subject.
  • 5-10 years experience in designing mechanical plants and equipment.
  • Capable of developing 2D or 3D schematic drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks 3D or equivalent software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to estimate project timescales accurately.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to travel and attend site meetings as required.
  • Capable of assisting commissioning staff at customer sites.
  • International travel may be necessary.
  • Driving license required.

Estimated Salary Range

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum depending on experience.
