Electrical Project Engineer Job Description

At Copello, we are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for managing electrical projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage electrical projects through conception, design, build, testing, and commissioning.
  • Produce and manage design and change management of new metering systems and associated grid system monitoring bespoke systems.
  • Perform FAT, FIT, and SIT procedures, and ensure successful completion of customer witness testing requirements.
  • Identify and manage project risk, and implement control measures to mitigate risks with project managers.
  • Support and assist the management team to monitor project progress and ensure that development, design, construction, testing, and financial targets are met.
  • Ensure that technical standards are maintained in all aspects of project work to ensure safe and successful project implementation.
  • Lead and monitor the planning and progress of works in conjunction with project managers, and ensure that development, design, construction, and testing requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • HNC/Degree level qualification in electrical/electronics engineering.
  • Good technical understanding and appreciation of Elexon COP1 & COP2 solution requirements, including grid system monitoring requirements.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD (or similar) fluently and IT packages such as Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Visio, MS Projects etc.), SAP Concur etc.
  • Understanding of network and communication systems.
  • UK Full driving licence.
  • Experience in SCADA and Control systems, communication protocols, and electrical and project safety requirements.
  • An understanding of contract conditions and how to manage them.
