Senior Mental Health Nurse Opportunity

Cygnet Sedgley Lodge & House, a leading provider of mental health services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Nurse to join their team on a fixed-term contract until April 2025.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a 34-bed high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men with complex needs. Our service is designed to promote mental health recovery by focusing on space, personal privacy, and dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the care and associated duties of an allocated team of Nurses and Support Workers, ensuring effective allocation and competence.
  • Develop and implement individual Patient programmes of care, coordinating assessment, planning, and evaluation.
  • Monitor and develop managerial and clinical supervision within the allocated team.
  • Ensure effective staffing on shifts, considering skill and gender mix, and inform the Head of Care of any shortfalls or issues affecting patient care and safety.
  • Conduct Return to Work and Sickness interviews, as required by the Head of Care.
  • Report ill health amongst Patients and request RC/GP/Professional visits when necessary.
  • Participate in Staff and Patient meetings and attend training sessions as required.
  • Stay informed about the Mental Health Act 1983 and latest nursing practices.
  • Commit to patient recovery, effectively monitoring, managing, and reducing risk.

This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
