About the Role: Reporting to the IE/UK HVDC Service Manager, the Cyber Security Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing cyber-specific projects, network and security architectures, and ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and implementing Cyber specific projects and systems to ensure the security and integrity of our energy solutions.
- Deliver sustainable services to maintain customer-specific SLA's and ensure high availability of our systems.
- Ensure project and service deliverables meet defined cyber security requirements and industry standards.
- Introduce new cyber security-related policies, standards, and practices to enhance our security posture.
- Contribute to identifying, managing, and reducing cyber security risks to protect our customers and our business.
- Anticipate and influence current and future technologies and trends to stay ahead of emerging threats.
- Represent Hitachi Energy as a cyber security expert in customer discussions and provide guidance on security best practices.
- Create, maintain, and share understanding of global cyber security risks and market requirements to inform our security strategy.
- Integrate into an existing On-Call roster to ensure seamless support and minimize downtime.
- Develop and follow network diagrams and overall network architecture to ensure security and efficiency.
- Participate in cyber security risk assessments as a subject-matter expert to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Interface with R&D departments and customers to meet and exceed expectations and drive innovation.
- Contribute to identifying and capturing opportunities for improvement to enhance our security and services.
- Liaise with project management on outage development and provide cost estimates to ensure accurate planning and execution.
Requirements: A university degree in a relevant technical area, preferably Computer Science. Experience with databases, scripting languages, and network equipment is required. Security clearance to comply with BS7858:2019 is necessary.
Desired Skills:
- Excellent customer focus experience and ability to build strong relationships with customers.
- Experience with high-availability solutions and ability to design and implement secure systems.
- Experience with port-, vulnerability-, and malware scanners and ability to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Knowledge of intrusion detection systems and security information event monitoring to stay ahead of emerging threats.
- Experience with Microsoft client- and server operating systems and ability to integrate with third-party devices.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in critical infrastructure and ability to design and implement secure systems.
