University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Gastroenterology with General Medicine to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for developing special interests to extend the spectrum of gastroenterology services offered at Weston General Hospital.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop special interests to extend the spectrum of gastroenterology services offered at Weston
- Support services currently being developed in the department
- Undertake a total of two general gastroenterology clinics per week
- Support the endoscopy service with both upper and lower endoscopy procedures
- Be responsible for the gastroenterology ward on a 1:3 rotational basis
- Participate in the emergency endoscopy rota (1:6) and the G(I)M on-call rota out of hours (1:11)

What We Offer:
- A generous relocation package of up to £7000
- An additional recruitment premium of £20,000, paid over a three-year period (pro-rata for fixed term posts)
- A commitment to the emergency endoscopy rota (1:6) and the G(I)M on-call rota out of hours (1:11)
Person Specification:
- Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview
- Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or evidence of within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview
Desirable:
- Higher academic qualification
- Evidence of a special interest and expertise that complements those of other consultants in the department and is consistent with the Trust's service strategy
