Job Description

This Industrial Placement opportunity is designed for students pursuing a degree in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other STEM subjects. As an Industrial Placement Systems Engineer, you will work on real-world engineering problems within the Radar or Advanced Targeting business area. Your tasks will involve supporting various projects and products, including the radar for the Typhoon fighter jet, SAAB Gripen fighter, Surveillance AESA radars, IRCM system, laser target designator, and laser ranging systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performance modelling using physics-based models to test designs through computer simulation.
  • Data analysis involving end-to-end systems analysis using synthetic and 'real world' data.
  • Collaboration with experienced engineers for guidance and on-the-job training.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Currently studying a relevant degree discipline.
  • Familiarity with coding/programming languages and project work experience preferred.
