University Assistant Professor in Sociolinguistics

The University of Cambridge is seeking a University Assistant Professor in Sociolinguistics to join the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics. This full-time position involves conducting research in sociolinguistics, using science-based methodologies, and contributing to undergraduate teaching and small group supervision.

The appointee will be required to contribute to the delivery of a distinctive intellectual programme in Linguistics and the Language Sciences at the Master's and PhD levels. A strong formal linguistics background, with expertise in phonology, morphology, or syntax, is essential for this position. The appointee will also participate in the administration of the activities of the Theoretical and Applied Linguistics Section (TAL).

A fluent command of English is essential for this position, which comes with a salary of approximately £62,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Candidates should have relevant teaching experience and a record of excellence in research, commensurate with their career stage.
