About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated specialist doctor to join our team in intellectual disability psychiatry. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified individual to develop their expertise and practice in this field.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychiatric services to adults with intellectual disabilities under the care of the community-based North and Mid Devon Intensive Assessment and Treatment Team (IATT). They will also work with patients from the North and Mid Devon area admitted to the Additional Support Unit, Exeter, as required.

Main Responsibilities
  • Providing psychiatric services to adults with intellectual disabilities
  • Collaborating with other health and social professionals and agencies
  • Liaising with mental health services
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have completed at least four years of full-time postgraduate training or its equivalent in a relevant specialty. They should also have experience working in the field of intellectual disability psychiatry and possess good knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983.

Working Arrangements

This is a permanent position based at North Devon District Hospital, Raleigh Park, Barnstaple, EX31 4JB. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the team and have good communication skills.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is £90,000-£110,000, depending on experience.
