Actuary Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuary to join our IFRS reporting team. As an Actuary, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of accurate and well-explained IFRS results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the IFRS17 results production, including the running and maintenance of the IFRS17 Engine required to produce IFRS17 results.
  • Produce quarterly IFRS17 results from the Engine and analyze and explain movements in liabilities, risk adjustment, and CSM as required.
  • Support and define improvements to the IFRS17 reporting process and liaise with IT and other suppliers on necessary developments.
  • Work closely with Group Reporting and Accounting teams on understanding output from the Engine in relation to liability disclosures.
  • Produce results timely within the Working Day Timetable.
  • Communicate the results with key stakeholders, including Senior Leadership.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with other teams in Finance and IT.
  • Other support to Finance reporting initiatives as required.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
  • Be a qualified Actuary with post-qualification experience.
  • Have experience of IFRS17 reporting requirements.
  • Have knowledge of insurance products and systems.
  • Have experience of the production and delivery of financial reporting in a life organization.
  • Be highly analytical and a skilled problem solver, with a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to distill complex ideas or problems into simple, effective plans and solutions.
  • Have an ability to communicate effectively and influence effectively with productive, successful relationships with demanding senior stakeholders.
