About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Government Facility Services Ltd. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth and safe operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work
  • Work alongside experienced colleagues to ensure the efficient operation of our facilities
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and nurturing environment for prisoners, employees, and visitors
  • Collaborate with the facilities management team to identify and implement solutions to maintenance issues
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of health and safety procedures and protocols

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a prison environment or similar setting
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Previous experience of working within a building fabric or hard FM environment
  • Up-to-date First Aid at Work qualification
  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills
