Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthoptist to join our multidisciplinary ophthalmology team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a clinical specialist, you will provide high-quality, advanced specialized orthoptic assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients of all ages.

Main Duties

As a newly qualified Orthoptist, you will be guided on your way as an autonomous practitioner, working both as an individual and as part of a team. You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, management, and treatment of patients referred to the Orthoptic department, using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, specialized orthoptic assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients of all ages.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner, making clinical decisions to best meet patient needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, sharing your expertise with others.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A degree or diploma in Orthoptics, recognized by the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).Full registration with HCPC.Up-to-date knowledge of current practice and techniques.Evidence of continuing professional development.
