About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director to join our corporate leadership team and provide strategic and operational leadership across various departments. As Director of Governance and Corporate Services, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and compliant delivery of Council services across our district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across legal, democratic, electoral, communications, customer services, transformation, data protection, and ICT contract.
  • Ensure corporate decision making and governance underpins and supports the effective delivery of Council services.
  • Lead the transformation programme to ensure best use of resources and drive modernisation of customer engagement and processes.
  • Provide expert governance, assurance, and legal advice to the Council.
  • Lead and manage the governance and corporate services team.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of operating strategically and operationally in a complex stakeholder setting.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate in the best interests of the Council.
  • Excellent communication skills to promote high standards of practice and conduct.
  • Experience in governance, assurance, and legal advice.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
