**Job Title:** Occupational Therapy Specialist

As an Occupational Therapy Specialist with our NHS Trust, you will be part of a unique, multi-disciplinary team offering both in-patient and community adult mental health rehabilitation services. Our team is highly regarded for its occupational therapy services, and this is an excellent opportunity to work in a truly collaborative environment with colleagues from various disciplines.

The team works with up to 40 individuals in the community and has 5 in-patient beds. You will be expected to base yourself at our team base at Townend Court in Hull and be willing to work shifts and weekends as required.

This role has the potential to be offered as a Band 5-6 development post, dependent on the applicant.

**Main Duties of the Job**
  • Assess and treat your own specialist caseload of clients for a professional OT service
  • Provide specialist OT advice to other disciplines
  • Supervise junior staff, students, and support workers
  • Lead or contribute to clinical audits
  • Undertake research
  • Maintain effective patient/service-user care

**Qualifications and Knowledge**
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the HCPC
  • Broad understanding of relevant policy and legislation
  • Specialist knowledge of occupational therapy models and assessments
  • Basic IT skills
  • Experienced practice educator with SLiP training
  • Current CPD or formal qualifications at an advanced level
  • Registration within the specialist RCOT sections
**Experience**
  • Appropriate knowledge of working in the relevant service area
  • Understanding of caseload management and clinical responsibilities
  • Successful completion of preceptorship
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Evidence of specialist practice skills
  • Evidence of promoting user/carer involvement
