About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machining Team Leader to join our team at Leidos. As a CNC Machining Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a small shift team in machining jigs and fixtures for prototype and batch manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of CNC setter/operators in managing their workload and ensuring manufacturing is completed in line with our Quality Brief and products adhere to Quality Management standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, and Q1).
  • Ensure the team achieves production targets and deadlines, and complete Inspection and Daily sheets.
  • Read, interpret, and work to drawings supplied, and ensure component inspection is carried out and take an active role in the quality of Leidos products being produced.
  • Prepare cutting tools, and produce jigs, fixtures, and tooling methods to ensure safe, cost-efficient production of components.
Requirements
  • Ideally apprentice trained or qualified through experience.
  • Proven experience of operating 3 and 4 axis CNC Machining, Milling, and Lathe machinery (ideally Fanuc or Siemens controlled).
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced engineering environment, and able to read engineering drawings, set CNC machines, and use measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work using Metric and Imperial measurements, and good understanding of fine engineering tolerances and quality inspection requirements.
