We are seeking a skilled Lead CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team in South Oxfordshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the CNC machining department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to a team of machinists, ensuring efficient production runs and high-quality output.
  • Programming & Setup: Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machines using CAD/CAM software, and set up machines for efficient production.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all machined parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards, conducting regular inspections and troubleshooting any machining issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve process efficiency.
  • Training & Development: Mentor and train junior machinists, sharing best practices and helping to develop their technical skills.
  • Maintenance: Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure machines are well-maintained and downtime is minimized.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in CNC machining, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in CNC programming (Fanuc, Siemens, or similar), machine setup, and operation, with a strong understanding of CAD/CAM software.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work with tight tolerances and ensure high-quality output.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Education: A relevant engineering or technical qualification is preferred, but not essential.
