Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Orthopaedic Staff Nurse

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Orthopaedic Staff Nurse to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic Outpatient Department at Bristol Royal Infirmary. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care and contributing to the smooth running of our clinics.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in orthopaedic nursing, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be passionate about wound care and management, with a good understanding of wound care dressings and the ability to assess and manage post-operative, complex, and trauma wounds.

As a Senior Nurse in Orthopaedics, you will be responsible for supporting the Sister with managerial duties, including writing off-duty rosters, managing clinical incidents and risks, and dealing with patient complaints. You will also be involved in the assessment and management of acutely unwell patients, facilitating prompt transfer to the necessary acute setting, and assisting with the management and scheduling of OP clinic timetables and staff allocation.

Person Specification
  • Active 1st level registration with NMC
  • Qualification in Teaching, Assessing, and Mentoring
  • Willingness to work towards Masters level academic study
