About the Role:

Caval Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our team. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the groundworks on new build construction projects in the West Yorkshire area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation, execution, and monitoring of foundational tasks to ensure the site is properly prepared for subsequent construction phases.
  • Assist Senior Engineers in overseeing day-to-day site activities to ensure tasks are executed as per plan.
  • Contribute to project efficiency and address any on-site challenges.
  • Update clients on project progress and site conditions.
  • Resolve technical issues that occur during construction.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and other on-site workers.
  • Ensure that legal permits and site documentation are in place and updated.
  • Oversee construction activities, ensuring they adhere to quality specifications.
  • Prepare work schedules and allocate resources under the guidance of Senior Engineers.
  • Maintain detailed site records, including daily logs, material usage, labor hours, and equipment status.
  • Report any safety incidents or potential hazards to the Senior Site Engineer or Safety Officer.

Requirements:

  • Hold a minimum of a HNC in a relevant field.
  • Have a history of setting out on new build projects.
  • Have previous experience of overseeing groundworks on new build construction projects.
  • Have superb time management abilities.
  • Have effective communication, written and verbal, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Have knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Have a solid understanding of core engineering principles and concepts relevant to the field.
  • Be proficient in the use of engineering software, such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, or other design and analysis tools.
