Job Title: Send Consultant - Funding And Specialist Places Client Lead (Interim)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Send Consultant - Funding And Specialist Places Client Lead (Interim) to join our team at PPR Social Care. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in leading transformative change in how specialist SEND places are delivered and funded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and Improve SEND Funding Processes: You will be responsible for overseeing and improving SEND funding processes, ensuring that they are efficient, effective, and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Develop New SEND Places: You will work with schools and multi-academy trusts to develop new SEND places, streamlining funding processes and improving the overall financial governance of SEND provisions.
  • Negotiate and Manage Funding Agreements: You will negotiate and manage funding agreements and delivery timelines, ensuring that they meet the needs of schools, parents, and internal teams.
  • Identify and Address Weaknesses in Financial Management Systems: You will identify and address weaknesses in financial management systems, ensuring that they are robust and effective.
  • Ensure SEND Placements Meet Quality and Regulatory Standards: You will ensure that SEND placements meet quality and regulatory standards, providing high-quality education and care for children and young people.
  • Build and Maintain Strong Relationships: You will build and maintain strong relationships with schools, parents, and internal teams, ensuring that they are informed and engaged throughout the process.
Key Person Requirements:
  • Proven Experience: You will have proven experience in leading SEND funding changes and financial system improvements, with a strong track record of success.
  • Strong Knowledge: You will have strong knowledge of SEND statutory responsibilities and school place planning, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective way.
  • Expertise: You will have expertise in negotiating and delivering SEND school places with schools/MATs, with a strong understanding of the complexities involved.
  • Senior Leadership Experience: You will have senior leadership experience in a local authority or similar setting, with the ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Skilled in Managing Complex Educational Capital Programmes: You will be skilled in managing complex educational capital programmes, with the ability to analyze and interpret data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent Analytical, Communication, and Problem-Solving Skills: You will have excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong Relationship-Building Abilities: You will have strong relationship-building abilities across diverse stakeholders, with the ability to build trust and rapport with schools, parents, and internal teams.
